Eastern Bluebird Project
An eastern bluebird trail was developed at the center consisting of 20 bluebird nest box sites with three different types of nest boxes at each site to examine nest box design preference and nesting success. In addition we examined temperature between the different types of nest box designs. |
Biodiversity Monitoring and Wildlife Occupancy at the Center
The overall objective of this research is to monitor biodiversity and determine wildlife species at the center by deploying 96 game cameras across the native habitat using a stratified random design. In addition, 8-16 acoustic recording devices will be deployed to record all wildlife sounds. |
Survey of Wild Pig Management by Livestock Producers and Peri-urban landowners
A survey to determine the impacts of wild pigs on peri-urban and ranch land, landowner opinions about wild pigs, landowner knowledge of wild pig management, and the potential barriers that landowners face implementing effective wild pig management. By identifying the barriers to effective wild pig management, we hope to develop more effective education and extension programs to assist Florida landowners in effectively managing wild pigs on their land. |
